Chris Huen Sin Kan (b. 1991, Hong Kong) is an artist whose practice, with an emphasis on painting, explores the minute and exquisite experiences of everyday life. He obtained a BA in Fine Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013. He is particularly drawn to fanatical behaviours and trivial moments that carry immense vitality such as a small dog or an ordinary lawn. Huen’s large-scale oil paintings, a constellation of brush marks often starring a cast of recurring characters including his wife Haze, son Joel, daughter Tess and dogs Balltsz, MuiMui and Doodood, evolve organically and haphazardly. Recent solo exhibitions include Chris Huen: Blossoms In The Shade, Ota Fine Arts (Singapore, 2022). He currently lives and works in London. He is currently artist-in-residence at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, a programme hosted in collaboration with K11 Art Foundation.
